福利姬视频 California鈥檚 Working Lands program collaborates with landowners and land stewards to restore and enhance native habitat by implementing adaptive management practices on farms, wetlands and other managed lands to support birds when and where they need it most.

Long ago, much of the Central Valley was covered by wetlands, but only 5% of those wetlands remain today. Despite this loss, the Central Valley鈥檚 managed wetlands and farmlands continue to provide crucial habitat for millions of birds.

In partnership with 福利姬视频 California, , and , this program incentivizes farmers and wetland managers to flood their fields at key times of the year to support migratory and resident birds.

Land Stewards

Working Lands programs help birds thrive because of the land stewards and wetlands managers who dedicate their lands to birds. Their commitment doesn鈥檛 just provide local habitat鈥攊t strengthens a habitat network that spans the Pacific Flyway in the Central Valley and beyond.

By participating in BirdReturns and other 福利姬视频-supported programs, these stewards create vital habitat for migratory shorebirds and waterfowl, and places to nest and raise young for resident bird species, proving that working lands can provide big returns for wildlife and the enjoyment of people.

Impact Stories: See How Land Stewards Are Making a Difference
Rick Ramirez, Land Steward of Riverfield Duck Club (San Joaquin Region)

鈥淏irdReturns has helped our small duck club to pursue habitat improvement projects. The extra income from their programs is plowed into the property, which in turn benefits not only the shorebirds but the ducks as well. A classic win/win!鈥

Andrew Bogan, Land Steward of The Teal Club (Suisun Region)

鈥淏irdReturns helps us to deliver year-round benefits to shorebirds, waterfowl, and other wildlife on our wetland conservation property in the Suisun Marsh. It鈥檚 a win for wildlife!鈥
